If you'd like to have a concert for a private event or fundraiser, my first piece of advice is to give yourself a MINIMUM of 4 months for planning.

It's like a wedding, with all the details! BUT worse than a wedding are the offer & contract process that can eat up a month, easily.

Before you call us, you need to have a legitimate venue and a date on hold.

At StarLink, we will give you names in your preferred genre and stated budget. You will choose who you want the most and we will extend the offer for you. It could be accepted or rejected quickly or it could take literally WEEKS. If it's accepted, then we go through contracting, which is another big time chunk, and fed-ex'ing checks and contracts after negotiations, etc. Finally we will have a fully executed contract.

BUT, if the offer is not accepted, we start at step one again. Back to the drawing board.

And this is so important: Don't think because our offer met the celebrity's quote it will necessarily be accepted! Sometimes, (and don't forget celebrities are people, too!) the person just plain doesn't want to do the date. It could be 3 days of travel, it's far away, they're tired from something else, whatever. That's just business. Don't take it personally.

Once you have a fully executed contract, you start advancing the date-- "pre-production". There are plenty of extras over and above the act's fee. Travel, backline (equipment rental), hospitality, sound, lights, etc. Each act has a contract rider full of extras that MUST BE MET or the act can refuse to perform and still be paid. And you don't want that! And we at StarLink would never let that happen. So we have a free handout to educate you on what may be coming your way:

We will get most of this stuff done for you, checking in with you of course during the process and in constant touch with your venue's technical director.

At your event, anything can go wrong, so we STRONGLY recommend you have someone from StarLink at your event to keep everything going smoothly! See this:

And if you're doing a fundraiser please check out our free planning guide:

So as you can see, it's not just hiring a clown to come to a 5 year old's birthday party. There is much planning and expense to be considered, and we're just the ones to make it a huge success.
